HAS2-AS1 is necessary for the transcription of its sense counterpart HAS2 upon hypoxia treatment. HAS2-AS1 is up-regulated in OSCC tissues compared with normal tissue. In addition, hypoxia induces the expression of HAS2-AS1 in OSCC cells in an HIF-1α dependent manner.
