BLACAT1 was found to interact with enhancer of zeste 2 (EZH2) and suppressor of zeste 12 (SUZ12), which were critical components of polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) complex, regulating the expression of some target genes, such as cyclin D2 (CCND2), homeobox A5 (HOXA5), kruppel like factor 4 (KLF4), serpin family B member 2 (SERPINB2), and bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2).
